Magic Windows and Their Stories
This one is a ritual of amusement, unlike the others that take up only a few minutes of the day, this one can take hours together. The people would sit in front of magic windows that would glow in different patterns to make pictures of something else. It was almost like a drawing that could move. When the first magic window was made, it only showed things in black and white, later as the people's tools got more advanced, they could make windows that showed color.
Only the nobles of the village could purchase these at first but as they became more common and affordable, more people were willing to waste their lives staring into them. Through this, many stories would be told that sometimes changed the way the people saw their world.
Sometimes these stories would be more educational than what they learned in their schools. They would also be more enjoyable too because hundreds of them would be made every year and the people would have a variety to choose from. Through these magic windows they could learn more about the world if they couldn't travel or didn't want to leave the comfort of their shelters. They could also chose to watch stories that would break their minds in unbelievable ways
Inception is great, but amazingly confusing, I had to watch it 4 times with a notebook to completely understand what was going on |
The industry of the stories also grew tremendously, people who would be seen inside the windows would become prominent figures to strive to be, and people who made the stories would become just a little greater than they were before unless they made hundreds of these stories. There was also a designated place for all of these stories to be made called "Hollywood"
Despite all of the effort that went into making these stories, many people would shame on them with other rituals and comment on how they could be made better even though they couldn't make a fraction of it themselves.
Hi Veeksha, I like how you chose to write your blog post about movies. Also, I like how you referred to movies as a “ritual of amusement” and “magic window.” I love the choice of memes that you included in your post. I always wanted to watch Inception every since you told me about it and I’m looking forward to watching it with you any time in the future, but don’t expect me to take notes.
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth, if you do come over to watch the movie i will not force you to take notes but not doing so may make the movie impossible to understand.
